The Silva Bay ‘airport’ is in fact a shack on a dock, with an occasional strip of open water in the bay for the float planes to land or take off. Only one ‘airline’ frequents the bay regularly – Tofino Air. Most of their flights are to and from the ‘south terminal’ at YVR. Silva Bay itself is not a city, but rather a poorly run ‘marina’, a greedy grocer (to gouge the locals and tourists), a wooden boat school and a few homes around the bay. The setting is picturesque, however, on the south east end of Gabriola Island, situated between the mainland of BC and Vancouver Island.
